Unfortunately, drifting joysticks has been a part of console gaming for a long time. It's just wear and tear. I've had some Xbox controllers do this, but they lasted years beforehand.

You should check to see if your controller is still under the 90 day warranty.

Really your going to send me a reply that doesn't contain anything about the issue I'm having.  This is the reason why you can't get this fixed is because you guys are not listening to what the issue is.  "If" I'm having trouble with my controller I just told you I was.  Instead of sending me a pre-written response actually try to help me and read what I said and then let me know how you are going to fix it Ambassador.  You are speaking for Xbox so what I want from an Ambassador is for you to talk to whoever it may be that can give me a true response and actually help this issue, which has been an Xbox controller issue since release.

Actually I speak for myself as gamer. If you have issues with your controller check the warranty as explained in the link I posted previously.

If the controller does something its not supposed to, get a new one if you have the warranty or see if it can be looked at. Also, I go about checking the forums by timestamp... and I just noticed you posted basically the same thing twice. That can be categorized as spam, which could warrant some sort of penalty. It'd be advised if you locked one of the threads or deleted one, as like I said they are basically the same discussion.

Also its kind of rude to get mad at people when they genuinely try and give you advice or insight that they believe could help... whether or not it helps, you need to always be respectful.

Any controller, no matter the console, brand, etc., will eventually have this happen; it's something everyone has dealt with at some point, especially if the controller is frequently used. I, myself, have went though more controllers than I would like to admit.

so you are going to threaten me instead of trying to help.  This was posted as a question to Microsoft my other post is a call to action for other gamers.  So if you are not going to actually help then don't but don't expect me or the thousands of dollars I've spent on Microsoft to continue to go towards something that is not going to last.  Maybe I should go to playing the majority of my games on playstation because as you should know true gamers play on multiple platforms I just used to prefer Xbox.  I do own a PlayStation 4 also.  I guess it may be time to blow the dirt off of it.

Drift is just wear and tear on the copper contacts in the joystick module it is not only Xbox controllers that do it. I have been repairing arcade joysticks since the early 90s for this same issue. sadly it just happens... even to my elite controller and if you are out of warranty and are tech savvy a quick google or youtube search will show you how and where to install new joystick modules.
